Lake nakuru national park

Lake Nakuru national park is spectacular. Has been a blazing sea of pink flamingos. Millions! Their intense fuchsias bursting against lake’s shores which perfectly contrasts with the pink flamingos, makes lake Nakuru bountiful. There has been decline of flamingos at the lake for years but the presence of waterfalls, acacia trees, euphoria trees make the lake magnificent. The lake is full of other birds. These creatures are not poisonous hence can’t attack you but, they’re capable of swallowing a whole animal down their throat. Lake Nakuru national park is located about 170 kms from Nairobi and 250 from Masai Mara national park.
It is close enough for a day trip from Nairobi or a stay at the Nakuru hotel.

Best time to visit lake Nakuru

Lake Nakuru is open year-round. You can visit any time of the year. The roads here are also relatively good hence it is possible to do game drives even during the heavy rains when other parks are not accessible.
However, the best time to visit here is as from June to November. During this period, the environment is very conducive and there are no a lot of rains.
