Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
Arrive in Nairobi and drive to Samburu National Reserve, which takes around 5-6 hours.
Enjoy a game drive in the afternoon, and look out for the "Samburu Special Five" - the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk antelope.
Day 2: Samburu full-day game drive
Spend the day exploring Samburu National Reserve, and go for an early morning game drive followed by a guided nature walk in the afternoon.
Visit a local Samburu village to learn about their culture and way of life.
Day 3: Samburu to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, which takes around 4-5 hours.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park, which is known for its large population of flamingos and other birdlife, as well as its rhinos and lions.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara
After breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru and journey through the Rift Valley toward the Masai Mara. Enjoy scenic views along the way and arrive in the reserve in time for lunch. After a short rest, head out for an afternoon game drive, exploring the open plains rich in wildlife. Spot lions, elephants, giraffes, and vast herds of antelope as the Mara comes alive in the afternoon light. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.
Day 5-6: Masai Mara
After an early breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch, allowing you to explore deeper areas of the reserve. This day is dedicated to maximizing wildlife sightings, including the Big Five and, seasonally, the Great Wildebeest Migration. Visit river crossings, predator hotspots, and expansive plains guided by expert safari professionals. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Masai Mara-Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, enjoy a short morning game drive or scenic exit from the Masai Mara, then drive to Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, take a relaxing boat ride on Lake Naivasha, spotting hippos and water birds, followed by a guided walking safari on Crescent Island, where you can walk among giraffes, zebras, and antelopes. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight by the lakeside.
Day 8: Amboseli to Nairobi
After breakfast, enjoy optional activities such as a visit to Hell’s Gate National Park for a nature walk or cycling experience through dramatic gorges and geothermal landscapes. Later, check out and begin the drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon with unforgettable memories of Kenya’s wildlife, scenic beauty, and immersive safari experiences.
